What We Learned in 2020 is Shaping our 2021

It’s no surprise, 2020 threw a curveball at us. Tasting room closures, event cancelations, and more impacted the way we were able to conduct our business. And for a while, it seemed all doom and gloom. But, you all kept us going! We’re so lucky to have the incredible support system of our members. We adapted to the new normal and changed in ways to better meet the needs of the people that matter most to us – our Rascals. We hope we succeeded! Here are some of the things we’ve changed and a quick preview of what’s to come in 2021.

1) Online Presence

Due to the lack of events and in-person interactions, we brought our Carhartt Vineyard experiences online to continue to foster our relationships in a safe way. In our 4 blind tasting sessions, we shared insight on how the wine world thinks about and analyzes tasting wine. In addition, other live virtual events, such as our Build a Cheeseboard and Wine Pairing event, gave a little fun and lightheartedness during a tough year. We’re continuing with virtual events into 2021 and beyond. We hope you’ll join us for one in the future!

2) Food & Wine

Additionally, we put increased emphasis on learning what matters most to our members. Through research initiatives, we learned that Rascals were spending more time in the kitchen and wanted more content around food and wine pairings. We started a Palate Pairings series to give our members recipes/ideas for their own at-home food and wine exploration. We hope these recipes were as fun for you to test out as they were for us. We’ll continue to prioritize this in 2021.

3) Reservations

We can’t forget one of the biggest changes of all – a reservation system in the tasting room. While this was not something we considered pre-Covid, reservations have not only given us the ability to safely serve our customers, but we can now spend more time interacting with each of you when you’re tasting. It’s these moments that give us the most fulfillment. While we’re not sure how reservations will play a role in a post-Covid world, we do know they’re here to stay to give our members more flexibility.

These are only a few of the changes we’ve made. And, there are many more exciting ones to come, such as new wines and increased flexibility for your membership. 2021 is going to be a BIG year, and we can’t wait to take you on the ride with us.
